Kathy Ann Kosins, born in Highland Park, Michigan, is an American jazz and R&B singer. Inspired by her father's Motown connections and seeing the Broadway production of Hair in 1967, she decided to become a performer. She started her music career in the late 1970s with rock bands and Michael Henderson. She gained prominence as a backup singer for Was (Not Was), recording several albums with them through the 1980s. She released the single âYou Shook Me All Night Longâ (1982), a remake of the AC/DC tune, with Slingshot. Kosins transitioned to jazz singing in the mid-1990s, releasing her debut jazz album All in a Dream's Work (1996). She released albums like Mood Swings (2002) and Vintage (2005), which received positive reviews and airplay. She signed with Mahogany Jazz Records in 2005, and toured Europe with Kevin Mahogany in 2009.
