Josseline Kate Higa Candela, known professionally as Kate Candela, was born on August 30, 1991, in San Miguel, Lima, Peru. She began her musical journey as a backup singer in a local parish and later performed romantic ballads before transitioning to salsa music. Candela's breakthrough came when she joined the all-female band Son Tentación in 2012, where she remained until 2018. Her solo career commenced with the release of her debut album Ãmame in 2019, produced by Bobby Alegre. That same year, she participated in the reality show El artista del año, finishing in fourth place. She released her second album, Cuidado Con la Candela, which included covers such as "Señora" and "Tu falta de querer". In 2020, she collaborated with Vicky Corbacho on the single "Quién es" and hosted the television program GMRTV. Notable other releases include Teatro Municipal de Lima (2023).
