Kate Campbell, born Jamae Kathryn Campbell on October 31, 1961, in New Orleans, Louisiana, is an American folk singer-songwriter. Raised in Sledge, Mississippi, Campbell's early musical influences included her mother and grandfather. She earned degrees from Samford University and Auburn University before moving to Nashville. Campbell released her debut album, Songs from the Levee, in 1994 on Large River Music. Over the next few years, she released several albums including Moonpie Dreams (1997), Visions of Plenty (1998), and Rosaryville (1999). Notable collaborations include guest vocals from John Prine, Nanci Griffith, Emmylou Harris, Rodney Crowell, Guy Clark, Maura O'Connell, and Mac McAnally.
