Richard Carl Buckner is an American singer-songwriter born in California who has also lived in Edmonton, Alberta, and Brooklyn, New York. His solo career began with Bloomed (1994), followed by the critically acclaimed Devotion + Doubt (1997) and Since (1998), which showcased his introspective songwriting. Later releases included The Hill (2000), Impasse (2002), Dents and Shells (2004), Meadow (2006), Our Blood (2011), and Surrounded (2013). Buckner has also collaborated with Jon Langford and set poems from Edgar Lee Masters's Spoon River Anthology to music.
