Biography
Lizzie West, born in 1973 in Brooklyn, New York, is an American singerâsongwriter. She began her career busking in New York City subways and travelling across the United States before recording her debut album, Holy Road: Freedom Songs, released in 2003 on Warnerâ¯Bros. Records. The album featured the singles "Holy Road" and "Dusty Turnaround" and earned her the title of Breakout Artist of the Year by Entertainmentâ¯Weekly. In 2004 she released the single "19 Miles to Baghdad" amid the Iraq War. Westâs second album, I Pledge Allegiance to myself, was issued in 2006 by Appleseed Records. Her music appeared in television shows and films such as Secretary and Everwood.
