Biography

Karol Duchoň, born Karol on April 21, 1950 in Galanta, Czechoslovakia, was a Slovak singer. He began his music career with big beat band The Ice Boys and gained initial recognition through television appearances, including performing "Uber pary" on Malá televníšná hitparáda. In 1973, he released the single "Láska Je V Nás / Uspávanka". Duchoň's career saw collaborations with notable artists such as Eva Máziková and performances at significant events like the Bratislava Lyre competition in 1970. He released his album Portrait einer Stimme in 1976, produced by Rolf Soja, which included singles "Edeltraut" and "Laß uns eine Nacht lang tanzen". Duchoň toured extensively across Europe, Asia, Africa, and Cuba with various orchestras and bands including Ľubo Belák's group. Karol Duchoň passed away on November 5, 1985, at the age of 35 due to complications from liver cirrhosis.
