Kapotte Muziek is a Dutch experimental music group formed in 1984. The project began as the solo noise music endeavor of Frans de Waard, who released over fifty cassettes and several LPs under this name. Peter Duimelinks joined de Waard for their first US tour, transforming the project into a duo. Later, Roel Meelkop was added to complete the trio. They toured the US once, performing under both Kapotte Muziek and their techno music alter ego, Goem. Their work has been reworked by various artists into a series called "Kapotte Muziek by", featuring verifiable singles such as "Kapotte Muziek by RLW" (1997) and "Kapotte Muziek by Lasse Marhaug" (1998), as well as EPs like Kapotte Muziek by Stephan Mathieu (2003) and Kapotte Muziek by Peter Rehberg (2006). The series also features contributions from Leif Elggren and Thurston Moore, among others.
