Juan David Loaiza Sepúlveda (born Decemberâ¯15,â¯1997, in Zaragoza near MedellÃn and raised in Elâ¯Cabuyal near Cali) began writing music earlyâpenning his first song âYo tengo un sueñoâ at age 13. After moving to Bogotá at 16 and appearing on Yo Me Llamo imitating Cosculluela, he gained his break in 2019 when he signed with Laâ¯Industriaâ¯Inc and released his debut single âHumo,â marking his entry into the reggaeton scene. In 2023, he dropped the mixtape TUâ¯OGâ¯FAVORITO, featuring âVuelaâ and his first charting track âBulevarâ with Esteban Rojas. His career skyrocketed in 2024 with the Afrobeat-leaning hit âOhnana,â which achieved diamond certification and charted on Billboard Globalâ¯200 and Hotâ¯Latinâ¯Songs; he followed up with the viral single âUWAIE.â Also in 2024, he featured on notable collaborations like Manuelâ¯Turizoâs âQué pecaoâ and Dannyâ¯Oceanâs âImagÃnate.â Kapoâs momentum carried into 2025 with his second studio album Por Si Alguien Nos Escuchaâfeaturing tracks like âXâ¯TI,â âKorazong,â and collaborations with Mykeâ¯Towers, Feid, Yandel, Ryan Castro, and Relsâ¯Bâwith singles certified gold in Spain.
