Kalaset, a Danish indie-pop band from Southern Denmark, Middelfart, was formed in 2018 by Morten Holm Ørsager (vocals, guitar), Sidsel Due (keyboards), Jakob Rønn (drums), Henrik Skov (bass) and Anders Mygind (guitar). The quintet met at Middelfart Gymnasium where they began collaborating on Ørsager's songwriting. Their name, "Kalaset," meaning 'party' in Danish, was suggested by Ørsager after a studio session. Kalaset gained initial traction with their debut single "Riv I Mit Hår" released on November 12, 2021, which became P3's Ugens Uundgåelige. Their breakthrough moment came when they won the Quasar Live Final in 2021, leading to their first tour in February 2022 with sold-out shows in Copenhagen and Aarhus. Kalaset released their debut EP Grib mig hvis jeg falder (Del 1) on May 20, 2022, followed by the full album Grib Mig Hvis Jeg Falder on February 3, 2023. Notable singles from this period include "Kaos Kan Være Smukt" and "Vi Uendelige." The band continued to gain recognition with awards such as 'Talentprisen' at Odense Live Prisen in May 2022 and the Gaffa-pris for "Årets Nye Danske Navn" in February 2024. Their second album, Poker, was released on May 9, 2025, featuring singles like "Kender Ham Ikk" and "Money for Love." Kalaset has performed at major festivals including Tinderbox, Roskilde Festival, and Smukfest, and their largest venue to date is the Falkonersalen in Copenhagen. In September 2025, another single of the album, "Lige Meget Hvor Langt Du Er ", entered the Danish chats at number 38.
