Biography

Vesterinen Yhtyeineen is a Finnish band founded in 2009 around singer-guitarist Tero Vesterinen, now a ten-piece outfit signed to Universal Music and renowned for its blend of indie-pop and iskelmÃ¤Ã¤, sold-out concerts and lyrics oscillating between raw romanticism and dark humor. The band's breakthrough came with the album JÃ¶nkÃ¶ping (2009), which reached number 12áµ on the Finnish sales charts and propelled the single "MitÃ¤ tapahtui Hokkasen Timolle" into the radio charts. Erikoismiehen jÃ¤Ã¤hyvÃ¤iset (2011, #12), TiedÃ¤n miltÃ¤ tuntuu (2013, #7) and Onnellinen mies (2015) follow, confirming their national foothold. Fame grows further with Kirottu yksinÃ¤isyys (2016, No. 12), followed by the compilation Paviaani - Parhaat 2009-2017 (2017, No. 17) and the live album Paviaani elÃ¤Ã¤! (2018). In 2019, the album Faaraoiden aika (No. 7) delivers the hits "Tummilla teillÃ¤" and "PitÃ¤Ã¤ sanoo ei", before MeissÃ¤ asuu elÃ¤mÃ¤ (2021, No. 2) offers the radio hit "Kolme hyvÃ¤Ã¤ vinkkiÃ¤". The eighth studio album, Hetken ikuinen (March 2023), goes straight into the Top 40 at #3áµ, crosses the gold record threshold and sees its first single "Kohti sydÃ¤npeltoja" crowned "Vuoden iskelmÃ¤" and then #1 on the national airplay, while "Ilman mua" conquers the airwaves in its turn. On April 26, 2024, the group releases the double live album Hetken, ikuisesti, elÃ¤vÃ¤nÃ¤! (no. 22), recorded with a seventeen-piece ensemble, following on from a sold-out spring tour. In 2025, the single "PÃ¶llÃ¶ille kyytiÃ¤" reaches No. 13 in the Finnish radio charts.
