Biography
Su Rui-fen, known professionally as Su Rui or Julie Sue, was born in 1952, in Taipei, Taiwan. She began her singing career in 1968 when she participated in a competition and joined the Zero Chorus to sing Western pop songs. In 1973, she became the first female singer in residence at the Taipei Hilton. Su Rui-fen reached overnight stardom with the release of âThe Same Moonlightâ in 1983. Notable songs include âAny Empty Wine Bottles For Saleâ from the soundtrack to the film Papa, Can You Hear Me Sing, and âFollow Your Feelingsâ, which became popular in the 1980s. In 2018, Su received the Special Contribution Award at the 29th Golden Melody Awards for her achievements in Mandopop music.
