Biography

Julie Dahle Aagård, born Julie Aagård on December 30, 1978, in Norway, is a jazz singer. She graduated from the Jazz program at Trondheim Musikkonservatorium between 1997 and 2002. Her debut solo album Det Klaraste Lyset, produced by Åge Aleksandersen, premiered at the World Ski Championships in Trondheim in 1997. Aagård released her second solo album, Goodnight Stranger, in 2001. She collaborated with various bands including Gutvik 5, Cannonballs, and Reggae Kings. In 2003, she became a leading figure in the quintet Subtonic, contributing text and lyrics to their album In This House. Aagård performed songs for the Norwegian version of Disney's Cinderella II: Dreams Come True in 2002. She released her third solo album, Stompin' Feet, in 2009, which was nominated for Spellemannprisen in the Female artist category. Aagård also performed with the Trondheim Voices and debuted with her own band, Julie Dahle Aagård Orchestra, at Jazzfest in Trondheim in 2009.
