Julis "Jules" de Corte, born on March 29, 1924, in Deurne, Netherlands, was a singer-songwriter who became blind at 14 months due to an ear infection. He spent his childhood in Catholic institutions for the blind in Grave. In 1945, de Corte began his professional music career performing at dance schools and parties before transitioning to radio and stage appearances. His early releases included Levensliedjes Volume I and Levensliedjes Volume II, both released in 1956. De Corte was known for his extensive songwriting, writing over 3,000 songs, including "Ik zou wel eens willen weten" (1974). He received the Edison Award in 1962 for Liedjes die eigenlijk niet mogen. De Corte passed away on February 16, 1996.
