Biography

Juan Bau is a Spanish light music singer born on December 24, 1948, in Aldaya. He performed in the amateur groups Los Pikens and Modificación before debuting professionally in (1972). He recorded his first single in (1972) featuring the songs “Pequeñas cosas” and “Dentro de mi alma”. He followed this in (1973) with the single “Tú no comprendes” and achieved a major hit with “La estrella de David” (1973). Bau received his first gold record for the studio album Penas (1974). His other singles include “Mi corazón” (1974), “Dama del amanecer” (1975), and “Devuélveme el amor” (1978). In the 1980s, his songs included “Un paso más” and “Hoy me llamará”. Albums include Corazonada (1988), Alma romántica (1996), and Nuestras canciones (1999). He returned to recording with Volverte a ver (2003) and the compilation 30 años de éxitos (2004). His work is featured in compilations such as Super éxitos de Juan Bau (2009).
