Biography

John Mark McMillan is an American singer, songwriter, and musician who was born in 1979 in Charlotte, North Carolina. He released his debut album, Hope Anthology, Volume 1, (2002). His second album, The Song Inside: The Sounds of Breaking Down (2005), featured the track “How He Loves”, which became a commercial success and was covered by the David Crowder Band. McMillan released the album The Medicine independently in 2008 and re-released it after signing with Integrity Music (2010). This was followed by the album Economy (2011). In 2014, he co-founded the label Lionhawk Records, which released his album Borderland (2014). The recording reached number 41 on the Billboard 200 and number 4 on the Top Christian Album chart. His subsequent studio albums include Mercury & Lightning (2017), which reached Number 1 on the Top Christian Album chart, Peopled with Dreams (2020), and Deep Magic (2023). McMillan released the album Cosmic Supreme (2025) under the label Anotherland Records. His other releases include the EP You Are the Avalanche (2015) and the live recording Live at the Knight (2015).
