Though he would appear on various tracks throughout the years, it wasnât until 2005 that he released his first solo album, Peso Completo. It was a smash success, selling over 100,000 copies and peaking at Number 45 on the Top Latin Albums chart. The track âTemblequeâ became a hit for John Eric, charting on Billboardâs Hot Latin Tracks chart. Soon, he was collaborating with big-name artists such as Tego Calderón, Zion y Lennox, and more. In 2007, he released his second album Borrón y Cuenta Nueva. In 2009, John Eric collaborated with Angel y Khriz on the hit song âNa de Na,â which received a nomination for the Billboard Latino awards as well as being named ASCAPâs Tropical Song of the Year. âNa de Naâ would also go on to be named among Rolling Stoneâs list of 100 Best Reggaeton Songs of All Time. In 2020, his hit single "Raka Taka Taka" was remixed by DJ Bryan Flow and became a viral success on TikTok and other platforms.
