Biography

Johannes Eick, born on April 22, 1964, in Eidsfoss, Vestfold, Norway, is a bassist known for his work with both double bass and electric bass guitar. He began his musical journey playing in the band Kix with Elin Rosseland from 1982 to 1986. Eick studied at the music conservatory in Trondheim from 1983 to 1986, where he was involved in several bands. His breakthrough came with the release of Fair Play (1989) featuring Norma Winstone. He collaborated extensively with notable artists such as Karin Krog and John Surman. Eick is also known for his innovative work with six-string instruments, having converted both double bass and electric bass guitar to six strings in 1991.
