Johan is a Dutch indie rock ensemble from Hoorn established in 1996. They achieved professional recognition for a musical career characterized by alternative rock and for receiving an Edison Award for Best National Pop Group in 2002. The ensemble was founded by the lead vocalist and guitarist Jacco de Greeuw after previously performing in the groups Thank God for Us and Little Mary Big. They achieved professional recognition for a career that began as Visions of Johanna before shortening the name to Johan as a reference to the footballer Johan Cruyff. Their recording career began with the debut eponymous studio recording Johan (1996). Johan achieved professional recognition for the studio recording Pergola (2001) which was certified gold and reached number 48 in the Dutch charts. Their discography included the studio recording Thx Jhn (2006) which featured the single "Oceans" reaching number 67 in the Netherlands. The ensemble became inactive in December 2009 but achieved professional recognition for resuming activity in 2017. Their recording career included the studio recording Pull Up (2018) which reached number 6 and the studio recording The Great Vacation (2024) which reached number 5.
