Joey + Rory was an American country and bluegrass duo composed of singer-songwriters Rory Lee Feek and Joey Feek. Before forming the duo, Rory worked as a songwriter, penning hits for artists like Clay Walker and Blake Shelton. They gained prominence as third-place finalists on CMT's Can You Duet in 2008, which led to a signing with Sugar Hill Records. Their debut album, The Life of a Song (2008), debuted at number 10 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart and featured the single "Cheater, Cheater". The duo won the Academy of Country Music Award for Top New Vocal Duo in 2010. They released their first gospel album, Inspired: Songs of Faith & Family, in 2013. After Joey's passing in March 2016, their song "When I'm Gone" gained posthumous recognition, charting at number 21 on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart. Their final album, Hymns That Are Important to Us (2016), debuted at Number 1 on the Billboard Top Country Albums chart.
