Biography

Joseph Arthur Sealy, born on August 16, 1939 in Montreal, Quebec, is a Canadian jazz musician. His breakthrough came with the release of Dual Vision in 1994, a collaborative effort with Paul Novotny that garnered critical acclaim. This album was followed by Africville Suite in 1996, which won the Juno Award for Best Contemporary Jazz Album in 1997, and Blue Jade (1999), which also received a nomination for Best Contemporary Jazz Album at the Juno Awards of 2000. In 2010, he was awarded the Order of Canada.
