Biography

Christian Willisohn, born on January 22, 1962, in Munich, Germany, is a German pianist known for his contributions to blues and jazz music. He began his musical career in 1980 performing in local clubs in Munich and left his profession as a stonemason and sculptor to pursue music full-time in 1986. Willisohn's first international performance was with Zora Young in the USA in 1987. Throughout his career, he has collaborated with numerous international blues musicians, including Lillian Boutté from 1988 until her tragic illness ended their collaboration. He has released several albums, including Boogie Woogie And Some Blues (1991), Blues News (1994), and Heart Broken Man (1996). In addition to his musical endeavors, Willisohn composed the film score for the film The Sun Strategist with Titus Vollmer.
