Biography

Jochen Distelmeyer (born July 24, 1967 in Bielefeld) is a musician and writer from Germany. He became better known as the leader of the band Blumfeld. Jochen Distelmeyer released six studio albums with the indie rock band between 1990 and 2007. After his time with Blumfeld, the artist embarked on a solo career. In 2009, he released his debut album Heavy. The longplayer reached number 29 in Germany. With the single "Lass uns Liebe sein" (Let's be love), he lands a minor hit in the German charts at number 78. The EP Regen is released a year later. Jochen Distelmeyer also achieved a chart position in Germany with this, reaching number 79. The artist then tried his hand at writing. In 2015, he published his novel Otis. One year later, the artist returns with the album Songs from the Bottom, Vol. 1. The longplayer with English cover songs reached number 36 in Germany and number 23 in Austria. In 2022, Jochen Distelmeyer returns with the album Gefühlte Wahrheiten. In Germany, the album reaches the top 20 of the German charts at number 14. In Switzerland, the longplayer reaches number 47.
