Jane Clifton, born April 10, 1949 in Gibraltar, is an Australian singer who spent her childhood in Germany and Malaysia before moving to Australia. She began her music career as the lead singer of Toads in 1975. The following year she formed Stiletto, which released their debut album Licence to Rage in September 1978. In late 1982, Clifton provided vocals for Jo Jo Zep's single "Taxi Mary," which reached number 11 on the singles chart and contributed vocals to Zep's album Cha. Her solo career began with the release of the single "Girl on the Wall" in February 1984, backed by the Go Go Boys. The song peaked at number 13.
