James G. Photoglo, known professionally as Jim Photoglo and also simply Photoglo, is an American singer and songwriter from Inglewood, California, who worked largely within the soft-rock and country genres. He began his music career in the late 1970s and early 1980s, releasing two charting albums: Photoglo (1980) and Fool in Love with You (1981). His breakthrough came with the singles "We Were Meant to Be Lovers" (1980), which peaked at number 31 on the US Billboard chart, and "Fool in Love with You" (1981), reaching number 25. He continued to release albums throughout the 1980s and 1990s, including The Thin Man (1983) and Passage (1993). He also wrote songs for notable artists such as Garth Brooks, Faith Hill, and the Everly Brothers. His songwriting credits include two number one hits on Billboard's country chart: "Fishin' in the Dark" by the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band and "Hometown Honeymoon" by Alabama. In addition to his solo work, he was a member of the novelty country band Run C&W and worked as a bass player and back-up vocalist for Dan Fogelberg's touring band in the 1980s and 1990s. He released Halls of My Heart in 2014 and went on to tour as a sideman with the Nitty Gritty Dirt Band in 2016.
