Jette Torp is a Danish singer and entertainer born on December 16, 1964, in Frederiksberg. She studied music at Ã
rhus University and the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus. Torp began her career with the trio Dirty Dolls before performing solo. In 1994, she appeared in the Musik & Fis show with Finn Nørbygaard. She participated in the Danish Melodi Grand Prix in 1997 with the recording âUtopiaâ. Her debut studio album, Here I Am, appeared in 1997. Her discography included the studio recordings What If I Do (1999), New Tracks (2001), and Snowflakes in Fire (2002). In 2003, she released the album Past the Point of Rescue. She recorded her first Danish-language solo album, MikrofonSangerinde, in 2007. Torp also released the recordings Der er ingenting i verden sÃ¥ stille som sne (2009) and Close to You (2011).
