Biography

Jessica Elisabeth Angelique Folcker, known professionally as Jessica Folcker, was born on July 9, 1975, in Täby, Stockholm County, Sweden. She is a singer who began her musical journey at Adolf Fredrik's Music School in Stockholm for six years until she was 17. Her career breakthrough came when she was engaged as a backing singer for Ace of Base and Dr. Alban. Folcker released her debut album Jessica in autumn 1998, which included the hit singles "Tell Me What You Like" and "How Will I Know (Who You Are)". The album was an instant success, earning her gold certification in Sweden and platinum in South Korea. She won two prizes at NRJ's awards show: New Artist of the Year and Swedish Female Artist of the Year. In 2000, Folcker released her second album Dino, which featured the single "To Be Able To Love" that reached the Billboard top 50 Dance Club Songs chart. She participated in Melodifestivalen, Sweden's national selection for the Eurovision Song Contest, in 2005 with "Om natten", and again in 2006 with "When Love's Comin' Back Again". In 2014, she returned to Melodifestivalen with Dr. Alban performing the duet "Around the World". Her fourth album Skin Close was released in 2007 under Cosmos Records, marking her first English-record since 2000.
