Jeffrey Wayne Richmond, born in Portage County, Ohio, is an American composer. He graduated from James A. Garfield High School in Garrettsville and attended Kent State University, where he co-authored several musicals. Richmond's early career included work at The Second City and Child's Play Touring Theatre before becoming the music director for Saturday Night Live. In 2006, he left SNL to produce and compose music for the sitcom 30 Rock, directed multiple episodes of it, and won three Emmy Awards for his production work on the first three seasons. He also composed "30 Rock"'s theme song, for which he received an Emmy nomination. Richmond's other notable works include composing the score for the film Baby Mama (2008) and writing music for the Broadway stage adaptation of Mean Girls, which premiered in 2018 and earned him a Tony Award nomination for Best Original Score.
