John Charles Crowley II, known as J.C. Crowley, is an American singer-songwriter and musician born on 13 November 1947 in Houston, Texas. He achieved professional recognition as a co-founding member of the rock ensemble Player in 1977. He co-wrote the track âBaby Come Backâ (1977) and contributed keyboards, guitar, and vocals to the studio recordings Player (1977) and Danger Zone (1978). After leaving the group, he established a career as a songwriter for artists including Johnny Cash and Smokey Robinson. His recording career includes the solo studio recording Beneath the Texas Moon (1988), which featured the track âPaint the Town and Hang the Moon Tonightâ (1988). The track reached number 13 on the US Country charts and appeared on the soundtrack for the film Pink Cadillac (1989). In 1989, Crowley received a nomination for Top New Male Vocalist from the Academy of Country Music Awards.
