Peter Beckett, born on August 10, 1948, in Aigburth, Liverpool, is an English musician and guitarist. Influenced by The Beatles, he formed his first band, The Thoughts, and recorded his first record with them at age 16. In 1974, Beckett moved to Los Angeles and co-founded Player with Ronn Moss, JC Crowley, and John Friesen two years later. Their breakthrough came with "Baby Come Back", which reached Number 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1978. After four albums, Player disbanded, and Beckett produced songs for artists like Olivia Newton-John and Kenny Rogers. In 1991, he released his solo album Beckett. He later joined Little River Band and reunited with Moss to reform Player, releasing their fifth album in 1995. Beckett later continued to write and produce music for various artists and television shows.
