Biography

Jay Jon Christopher Smith, born 29 April 1981 in Helsingborg, Sweden, is a Swedish singer who first rose to national attention as the winner of Swedish Idol in 2010. After competing on the show, he released his debut single "Dreaming People" and the self‑titled album Jay Jon Christopher Smith in December 2010, which entered the Swedish Albums Chart at number one and was later certified Platinum. Jay Jon Christopher Smith continued to build his catalogue with the follow‑up albums King of Man (2013) and Young Guns (2019), each featuring singles such as "King of Man" and "The End" (featuring Maja Gullstrand). Throughout his career he has collaborated with the band Von Benzo, contributing to their two studio albums, and performed on the 2024 Melodifestivalen with "Back to My Roots", finishing tenth in the final. Jay Jon Christopher Smith’s releases have consistently charted within the top ten of the Swedish charts, and his 2010 debut remains a milestone in the Swedish pop‑rock scene.
