Biography

Jason Owen, born 1994 in Dubbo, New South Wales, is an Australian singer whose career began with his appearance on The X Factor Australia in 2012, where he finished as runner‑up to Samantha Jade. After the show, Sony Music Australia signed him and he released his debut single "Make It Last" on 26 November 2012, which peaked at number 47 on the ARIA Singles Chart. His first studio album, Life Is A Highway, followed on 26 April 2013 and debuted at number 5 on the ARIA Albums Chart, becoming the thirtieth highest‑selling Australian album of that year. In June 2014 Owen departed Sony and signed with Social Family Records, releasing Friday Night on 6 March 2015, which entered the ARIA Albums Chart at number 9. Subsequent releases include the original‑material album Proud (6 May 2016) and the tribute Jason Owen Sings John Denver (30 June 2017). In 2018 he recorded "These Are the Times" to support drought relief efforts.
