Biography
Ramón Jacinto y Pereyra, known as Ramon Jacinto, was born on June 3, 1945, in the Philippines. He began his entrepreneurial journey at 15 by founding Asia's first multi-track recording company and established DZRJ, an influential rock-and-roll radio station, at 17. By 19, Jacinto worked at his family's Iligan Integrated Steel Mills, Inc., and his band RJ and the Riots disbanded in 1971. During Martial Law under Ferdinand Marcos, Jacinto's family assets, including his two radio stations, were forcibly seized, leading him to stay in the United States in exile for 14 years. He recorded songs with other Filipino musicians, including hits "Muli" and "Don't Let Go," which were secretly sent to the Philippines for airplay. Upon returning from exile in 1986, Jacinto reclaimed his radio stations and established various businesses, including RJ Guitars. In addition to his business ventures, Jacinto released albums such as Fine As Wine (2015) and Super Vintage Christmas Guitar Instrumentals (2015).
