Icarus, a British electronic music group from London, England, was formed in 1997 by cousins Ollie Bown and Sam Britton. The band's early releases included singles such as "UL-6" and "Soviet Igloo", which helped establish their unique sound blending electronic drum and bass with experimental jazz. Their debut album Kamikaze was released in 1998, followed by Fijaka in 1999. In 2001, Icarus released the critically acclaimed album Squid Ink, which marked a significant milestone in their career. The band continued to release notable albums such as Misfits (2002), I Tweet The Birdy Electric (2004), and All Is For The Best In The Best Of All Possible Worlds (2010). Icarus also founded the independent label Not Applicable in 2002, which became a collective project with other improvising musicians.
