Ibon Koteron, a Basque flutist and alboka player, was born in Bilbao, Spain, in 1967. He studied alboka and dultzaina from 1987 to 1988 and began his musical career as an accompanist for various acts, notably supporting the Conscientious Objection Movement. Koteron's debut album, Leonen Orroak, was released in 1996 as a joint record with Kepa Junkera. In 2004, he released his second album, Airea. Throughout his career, Koteron has collaborated with numerous musicians, including Gilles Chavenat, Soledonna and Faltriqueira, Heikki Syrjänen, Andrea Pisu, and Roston Kuchichian.
