Shane Niemi, born August 2, 1995, is an American singer and songwriter known professionally as iamnotshane. He began performing at age eight and wrote his first songs at twelve, releasing the single "Sinister" in 2014. The viral clip "Insecure" in 2016, featuring a lean dance, amassed over five million views and marked his breakthrough. His debut EP Sad followed in 2016, and he released the studio albums iamnotshane (2020), One Less Year Alive (2021), Chasing the Wind (2024), and The Playwright's Demise (2026).
