Biography

Hot Buttered Rum is an American progressive bluegrass band based in the San Francisco Bay Area. Formed in 2002, the six-piece group gained early recognition through performances at festivals such as the Telluride Bluegrass Festival and Newport Folk Festival. Their debut album, Live at the Freight and Salvage, was released in 2004. The band's song "Right Between Your Eyes" became widely known as the theme music for the TV show Cook's Country from America's Test Kitchen from 2013 to 2020. Hot Buttered Rum has collaborated with artists including Phil Lesh and headlined venues like The Fillmore in San Francisco. Their discography features notable albums In These Parts (2006), Well-Oiled Machine (2008), and The Kite & the Key (2016).
