Biography

Since its formation in 1969, Little Feat has offered rock spiced with blues, country, rock, rhythm'n'blues and boogie. Led by the personality of singer and multi-instrumentalist Lowell George, the Californian band found itself bereft when he died in 1979, after an impeccable series of albums summed up by Sailin' Shoes (1972), Dixie Chicken (1973) and the double live Waiting for Columbus (1978). Separated after this tragic event, Little Feat was reborn in 1988 with Craig Fuller and the album Let It Roll. This more tepid period manages the legacy of the early days before the arrival of singer Shaun Murphy on Under the Radar (1998). In 2008, Join the Band reinterprets the band's classics on duets. Little Feat continued without drummer Richie Hayward, who died in 2010, and recorded Rooster Rag (2012). After the death of guitarist and singer Paul Barrere in 2019, Scott Sharrard replaces him for the fiftieth anniversary tour and becomes the band's new leader, joined by drummer Tony Leone. Always a live presence, Little Feat recorded their first studio album in twelve years, Sam's Place (2024), made up of cover versions, followed by Strike Up the Band in 2025.
