Heiko Laux is a German electronic music producer and label owner from Bad Nauheim. In 1994, he founded the record label Kanzleramt, initially as a vehicle for his own compositions. The label quickly expanded to feature other artists, including Johannes Heil, Christian Morgenstern, Patrick Lindsey, and Anthony Rother, becoming one of the most prominent German techno imprints alongside Tresor. Laux launched the sublabels U-Turn and K2O and released music on other labels such as Harthouse, Kurbel, and Klockworks. His debut studio album, Liquidism, was released in 1998, followed by The Oldschoolstreet later that same year. His discography continued with the albums Sense Fiction in 2000, Ornaments in 2002, and Waves in 2006. After a period of focusing on DJ mixes and EPs, Laux released the studio album Fernweh in 2014. He has been a consistent presence in the Berlin techno scene and is known for a style that ranges from minimal techno to melodic electronic music.
