Biography
Gustav Ernest Viktor Lundgren (born September 18, 1980, in Stockholm) is a Swedish jazz guitarist. Lundgren began playing guitar at age 13 and studied in the music program at Södra Latin. Following his studies, Lundgren performed with the ensemble Hot Club de Suède and established a jazz club at Hannas Krog in Södermalm. In 2004, he released the debut album First Impression with the Gustav Lundgren Quartet/Quintet. Lundgren released several subsequent albums, including Second Opinion (2007), Janeiro (2011), and French Connection (2014). Notable collaborations include the 2013 record Bossa Nova Vol. 1 with Fredrik Carlquist and the 2015 album Mar with Luiz Murá. In 2004, Lundgren received a signature guitar model from AJL-Guitars. His accolades include the 2005 Louis Armstrong Scholarship and a 2009 grant from The Swedish Arts Grants Committee.
