Biography

Greta SalÃ³me is an Icelandic singer, songwriter, and violinist who was born as GrÃ©ta SalÃ³me StefÃ¡nsdÃ³ttir in MosfellsbÃ¦r, Iceland, in 1986. She achieved early professional recognition as a violinist in the Iceland Symphony Orchestra and is famous for representing Iceland in the Eurovision Song Contest in 2012 and 2016. In 2012, she performed the track âNever Forgetâ in a duet with JÃ³nsi, and her discography includes her debut studio recording In the Silence (2012), which featured both English and Icelandic versions of the song. SalÃ³me returned to Eurovision as a soloist in 2016 with the track âHear Them Callingâ, which reached Number 1 on the Icelandic charts. Her later releases include the singles âMy Bluesâ (2017) and âWildfireâ (2018).
