Glass Moon, an American rock band from Raleigh, North Carolina, was formed in the early 1970s by guitarist John Wheliss. The group initially included lead vocalist Rodney Barbour on guitar and flute, and Nestor Nunez on bass and vocals. Drummer Chris Jones joined in 1972, followed by David Adams on vocals and keyboards in 1974. Glass Moon's debut album, Glass Moon, was released in 1980 under Electric Lady Productions and distributed through RCA Records. The lead single "(I Like) The Way You Play" reached number 108 on the Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart, while the album peaked at number 148 on the Billboard album chart. Their second album, Growing In The Dark, was released in February 1982 and featured the Billboard Hot 100 single "On a Carousel", which peaked at number 50. Despite lineup changes and lack of touring support, Glass Moon continued with Adams reforming the band as Glassmoon in 1984. Their final album, Sympathetic Vibration, was released by MCA Records in June 1984, but the group disbanded permanently shortly after. The band's impact included a one-night-only reunion performance at Raleigh's Lincoln Theater in 2010 and notable post-disbandment activities from members such as Dick Smith touring with Earth, Wind & Fire and Kenny Loggins.
