Junior's Eyes was a British band formed in early 1968, led by guitarist Mick Wayne. The group initially featured drummer John 'Candy' Carr and later included bassist John 'Honk' Lodge and drummer Steve Chapman. Their debut single, recorded with pianist Rick Wakeman and producer Tony Visconti, marked the beginning of their career. In June 1969, Junior's Eyes released their sole album, Battersea Power Station. That same month, Wayne and Wakeman contributed to David Bowie's breakthrough hit "Space Oddity". The band backed Bowie on his follow-up album and a BBC Radio session in October 1969. However, internal disruptions and external recording sessions for other artists hindered their progress. Junior's Eyes played their final gig supporting Bowie at the Marquee Club in February 1970. Wayne later moved to the US and worked as a session musician before returning to London. He died in a fire in 1994.
