Gunther Göbbel, born on May 6, 1979, in Nuremberg, West Germany, is a German singer and DJ known professionally as Geeno Smith. He initially gained recognition by participating in the second season of Deutschland sucht den Superstar (DSDS) in 2003-2004, where he finished fifth overall. After DSDS, Göbbel formed the duo Meant 2 Be with Sedat Türüc, releasing the single "Caramba" in September 2004 before disbanding. In 2006, he co-founded the cover duo Lemon Ice with rapper Jay Low, achieving several hits including "Stand by Me", "Only You", and "Girl You Know It's True". Following Lemon Ice's breakup in 2009, Göbbel pursued a solo career under the name Geeno Fabulous, releasing collaborations such as I'm Famous and That Girl with Young Sixx. He also worked extensively as DJ GF and music producer, notably contributing to Crew 7's hit single "Wild", which reached Number 1 in the Deutsche Dance Charts in December 2013. In 2016, Göbbel adopted the stage name Geeno Smith and released a revitalized version of "Stand by Me" featuring Jay del Alma, which topped the iTunes download charts and reached number 16 on the Official German Singles Chart.
