Biography
Gas Huffer was an American garage rock band formed in 1989 in Seattle, Washington. The quartet consisted of vocalist Matt Wright, guitarist Tom Price, bassist Don Blackstone, and drummer Joe Newton. Price had previously played with the U-Men. Known for their high-energy stage antics and comical lyrics, the ensemble developed a unique tradition of creating comic books drawn by all four members to accompany their albums. The group released their debut studio album, Janitors of Tomorrow, in 1991 through Empty Records, followed by Integrity, Technology & Service in 1992. After signing with Epitaph Records, they issued One Inch Masters in 1994 and The Inhuman Ordeal of Special Agent Gas Huffer in 1996. Their final studio album, Lemonade for Vampires, was released in 2005. Following Price's diagnosis with Parkinson's disease, the band performed a farewell concert titled âThe Last Hufferâ on January 14, 2006. Price and Blackstone later formed the group Tom Price Desert Classic.
