Biography

Derek Christoff, known professionally as D-Sisive, is a Canadian rapper. He first emerged in the late 1990s with independent singles that gained attention in the Toronto hip-hop scene. Following personal struggles related to the deaths of his parents, he stepped away from music for several years, although he remained sporadically active, including a guest appearance in the music video for DJ Format’s “3 Feet Deep” (2005). He returned to prominence with the release of The Book (2008) under URBNET Records, which included the single “Brian Wilson.” In 2009, he won the SOCAN Songwriting Prize for “Nobody with a Notepad,” and released his Polaris Music Prize–nominated album Let the Children Die. Other releases include Vaudeville (2010) and Run with the Creeps (2011). He also collaborated with artists including Buck 65.
