Frankenstein Drag Queens from Planet 13, an American horror punk band from North Carolina, was formed in 1996 by Wednesday 13. Their debut album The Late, Late, Late Show was released that same year. The band's lineup frequently changed, with Wednesday 13 as the sole constant member. In 1997, they reformed and released their second album Night of the Living Drag Queens. Their third album, Songs From the Recently Deceased, followed in 1999. In 2001, they released their final album Viva Las Violence. Wednesday 13 left the band in early 2002 to join the Murderdolls, disbanding Frankenstein Drag Queens from Planet 13. The band's music blended punk rock with glam rock aesthetics and was heavily influenced by horror B-movies and popular culture.
