Frances Ann Makris, known professionally as Fran Jeffries, was an American singer, dancer, actress, and model born on May 18, 1937, in Palo Alto, California. She began her career as a singer and dancer, initially performing with Bob Scobey's orchestra. Her breakthrough moment came when she collaborated with Dick Haymes, her first husband, leading to the composition of Dave Frishbergâs "Peel Me a Grape". Jeffries made her film debut in The Buccaneer in 1958 and gained recognition for her roles in The Pink Panther in 1963, where she performed "Meglio Stasera", and Sex and the Single Girl. Her discography includes albums such as Fran Can Really Hang You Up the Most in 1960, Fran Jeffries Sings of Sex and the Single Girl in 1964, This Is Fran Jeffries in 1966, and All the Love in 2000. She also appeared on television shows like The Tom Jones Show in 1969 and The Smokey Robinson Show in 1970. Jeffries passed away from multiple myeloma on December 15, 2016, in Los Angeles, California.
