Field Report is an American folk band from Milwaukee, Wisconsin, led by singer/songwriter Christopher Porterfield. The band's name is an anagram of Porterfieldâs surname. Porterfield initially played with Justin Vernon in DeYarmond Edison before forming Field Report. In 2013, the band released their debut album Field Report, which garnered significant media attention and critical acclaim. Notable songs from this album include "Fergus Falls" and "Captain Video". The band's second album, Marigolden (2014), featured the track "Home (Leave the Lights On)", which was named the top song from Milwaukee in 2014 by the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. In 2017, Field Report signed with Verve Records and released their third album, Summertime Songs (2018). The band has performed alongside notable artists such as Counting Crows and Emmylou Harris, and in 2014, Milwaukee Mayor Tom Barrett declared October 22nd "Field Report Day."
