Biography

Hervé Gola Bataringe, alias Ferre Gola, was born on March 3, 1976 in Kinshasa. Passionate about music from an early age, he got his start in street bands before being spotted by Werrason in 1995. He joined Wenge Musica and then Wenge Musica Maison Mère in 1997, where he made his mark with"Vita Imana " on the album Solola Bien (1999). In 2004, he co-founded Les Marquis de Maison Mère, before joining Quartier Latin in 2005 and taking part in Koffi Olomidé's"Danger de Mort" with"Insecticide". He then launched his solo career in 2006 with"Sens Interdit". His albums Qui est derrière toi? (2009) and Boîte Noire (2013) established his status as a benchmark in Congolese rumba. In 2022, he released Dynastie, and in 2023 became the first Congolese artist to fill the Accor Arena. His album Harmonie (2023) confirms his influence. With a career spanning more than 20 years, Ferre Gola has established himself as a key figure in Congolese rumba and African music.
