Femme Fatale was formed in 1987 in Albuquerque, New Mexico, by lead vocalist Lorraine Lewis, guitarist Mazzi Rawd, bassist Rick Rael, and drummer Bobby Murray, later moving to Los Angeles and signing with MCA Records after a wellâreceived showcase. Their selfâtitled debut album Femme Fatale was released in 1988 and peaked at number 141 on the Billboard 200; the singles "Waiting for the Big One" and "Falling in and Out of Love" received heavy MTV airplay, contributing to sales of nearly 225,000 copies. The band toured worldwide supporting Cheap Trick, but internal challenges and the manager Andrea Accardoâs illness led to the groupâs dissolution in 1990. After the breakup, Lorraine Lewis pursued solo projects in country and newâage genres and later joined the allâfemale band Vixen as vocalist in 2019. In 2013, Lewis resurrected Femme Fatale with a new lineup, and in 2016 the band released the longâshelved album One More for the Road, featuring recordings from 1989â1990; the album became their final newâmaterial release. The band returned in 2025 with the single "Living Like Thereâs No Tomorrow" via Cleopatra Records, marking a brief comeback after years of inactivity.
